Beginning in April, regional sales reports will be submitted through the new Vertex portal rather than by email attachment. The portal generates summary charts automatically, which means the three-page commentary many of you currently write will no longer be needed. A short note explaining any figure that deviates by more than ten per cent from forecast will be sufficient.

I recognise that several of you have built your own tracking spreadsheets over the years, and I am not asking you to abandon them. Keep whatever helps you manage your territory. The change concerns only what reaches head office.

Training sessions will run on 22 and 23 March. Each lasts ninety minutes and covers uploading, editing and locking a report. If neither date suits you, contact Marcus in IT and he will arrange an individual walkthrough — but please do so before the end of next week, as he is on leave from 30 March.

NOTICE — Loading Bay B

Loading Bay B will be closed from Monday 5 May until Friday 16 May while the concrete surface is replaced. — [1] — All deliveries during this period must be directed to Bay A, which will operate on extended hours of 6 a.m. to 8 p.m.

Drivers should be warned that the approach to Bay A is narrower and that vehicles longer than twelve metres cannot turn there. — [2] — Suppliers using longer vehicles have been contacted separately and asked to reschedule.

Quality Coordinator — Northgate Foods

Northgate Foods is seeking a Quality Coordinator for our Leeds production site. The role suits someone who enjoys detail but is comfortable challenging colleagues when standards slip.

You will: carry out daily line inspections; maintain the audit log; investigate customer complaints and report findings within three working days; and run the quarterly supplier review.

We ask for: at least two years in a food or pharmaceutical production environment; familiarity with HACCP principles; and clear written English, since much of the role involves documentation that external auditors will read.

A formal qualification in food science is welcome but not essential — we have promoted several coordinators who came from line supervision. Salary is £31,000–£34,000 depending on experience, with a review after six months.
